La R&D en berne ?

L'édition 2009 du Tableau de Bord de la science, de la technologie et de l'industrie, publication statistique bisannuelle de l’OCDE, permet d'analyser l'impact de la crise sur l'économie au travers de ses 200 indicateurs (lire le résumé du tableau de bord).

"Research and development (R&D) expenditures are among the first to be cut during recessions.
Preliminary data suggest that companies have reduced their R&D investment in the aftermath of the crisis. Companies quoted on the New York Stock Exchange report a reduction of about 7% in their R&D expenditures in the first quarter of 2009, with a slight increase in the subsequent quarter. (...) Product or marketing innovations, as measured by trademarks, have been significantly affected by the crisis. Over 2008 the number of new trademarks went down by 20% and continued to plummet over the first half of 2009."

Comme on pouvait s'en douter, la crise a freiné les investissement en R&D des entreprises. Mais ce rapport met également de nouvelles pratiques d'innovation : open-innovation, travaux de recherche à l'international, partnership...
